If your child is aged 16 or under (or 19 and under if they’re still in full time education), then the NHS will provide FREE eye tests and contribute towards the cost of glasses.

We’ve carefully tailored the pricing of our range of children’s glasses to ensure that the NHS allowance will cover the full cost.  That means that our complete eye test service, and the whole range of children’s glasses are completely FREE!

We can also offer children’s prescription sunglasses and a wide selection of optional extras at very competitive prices.

And it’s not just children who can benefit!  Free eye tests are typically available to anyone who is:

  • Aged 60 or over
  • Aged 16 or under (or 19 and in full time education)
  • Suffers from Diabetes or Glaucoma
  • Aged 40 or over with a close relative with Glaucoma
  • Registered partially sighted or blind
  • Requires complex lenses

And if you or your partner receives the following benefits, the NHS will usually cover the cost of your eye tests as well:

  • Pension Credit guarantee scheme
  • Working Tax Credit (and hold an NHS Tax Credit Exemption Certificate)
  • Income Support or Jobseekers’ Allowance
  • You hold a valid HC2 or HC3 certificate

To find out whether you qualify for assistance with the cost of eye tests and glasses or contact lenses, you can speak to us directly by calling your nearest branch today (or by email at info@eyelandvisioncare.co.uk), or you can contact NHS Direct via their website.
