Athlete and Olympic badminton hopeful, Donna Kellogg (pictured), who wore the lenses whilst competing in
Beijing last month, said: “These lenses have been fantastic. My vision is a lot clearer, the lenses are so comfortable to wear and are really easy to put in and take out. I used to use a fortnightly lens, but the convenience of a fresh pair everyday is great – much less to carry around in my sports bag.”
Uniquely, the lens has the highest level of UV protection that is currently offered by a daily disposable contact, blocking more than 96% of UVA and 100% of UVB radiation.
David Ruston, director of professional affairs, added: “With more patients being concerned about ocular health, we believe that they will find the benefits of this breakthrough product very appealing. We know eye care professionals have been waiting a long time for a lens like this and are pleased that Johnson & Johnson Vision Care could deliver that to them.”
The lenses will initially be available in a power range of -0.50D to -6.00D (0.25), with plans to extend both power and parameter ranges in the future.
